Taxi/Private Hire Training in Maidstone, Medway and Surrounding Areas
Our aim at IDT Driving School is to provide taxi and private hire training in Maidstone and surrounding areas at all levels and within this in mind we provide a service for those preparing to become Taxi or Private Hire Drivers.

Regulations are becoming stricter to ensure that the quality of Driver is of the highest level. and to this end local areas are adopting the DSA Driving Test Targeted at those taking up this new career.

For a number of years we have successfully carried out taxi and private hire training and within the Tunbridge and Malling areas and IDT Driving School is listed with them as a training provider. Other areas do not provide such lists to applicants, for policy reasons, but we still carry out training to DSA standards for those seeking work within them.

Service offered
Training will normally take place using your own vehicle which may be either manual or dual control.

In the event that you feel that your vehicle is not suitable then a Driving School Car will be provided to you for the training and (at additional cost) for the Test.

You will be expected to drive at a higher standard than those taking a standard driving test, but we are aware that you are already a licence holder with a number of years driving experience.

Training will be given in your driving methods and the various Set Exercises that you will need to demonstrate.

Whilst there is no Theory or Hazard Perception Test, you will be asked various questions from the Highway Code along with identifying some road signs.
